We focus utmost on the all-round development of our students through curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. As far as curriculum design is concerned, we adopt the common curricula designed by the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. Yet, we do play a vital role in designing the curricula as many of our faculty members are member of BOS of there respective subjects. All the curricula are designed in keeping with the strategy of the UGC.

We offer presently one programme in the stream of Arts. Feedback on the curriculum is taken from the students and parents in informal ways.

As it is an educational institution, the practice of teaching, learning and evaluation is visibly of prime importance. We have adopted a completely transparent admission procedure strictly keeping in mind the rules and regulations of U.G.C., affiliated University and Government. To make the process of teaching and learning more effective, we adopt modern methods of teaching along with the habitual lecture method. The faculties prepare teaching plans and academic calendars to make the teaching of the syllabus more controlled. The faculties keep pace with the latest trends by attending conferences, seminars, workshops etc. We have a rich library to facilitate our teaching as well as learning procedure.

For the evaluation procedure students are informed before hand at the time of admission. We hold two internal tests, one additional test, class seminars, presentations, assignments, library works etc. The students can come up with the grievances regarding evaluation, if there are any, and they are given a satisfying response for sure.

A healthy environment conducive to teaching and learning is provided by the institution to all.

As far as the faculty is concerned in research work 01 teachers hold both an M.Phil and Ph.D Degree, 01 hold M.phil degree and 02 hold a Ph.D. Degree. Shree. Dr. J. S. Chaudhari is a recognized M.Phil guide for the subject of Gujarati.

Extension activities like social services, blood donation camps, cleanliness drive, adult education camps, etc. are organized under NSS. Students are always encouraged to participate in various sports competition of inter college, inter university and National Level.

Being a tribal area college, we take pride that we provide utmost satisfying infrastructure to cover our day to day work easily and smoothly. In all we have 5 acres of land which is utilized optimally. We have separate Principal’s office, Staff room and Administrative office along with the facility of separate rest room for ladies and gents.

We have a roomy building with 14 spacious classroom with all basic required facilities and on average 110 number of students can be seated in each class. We have a rich library with in all 5344 number of books for all the related subjects and with 50 seating capacity.

Additionally we have a sports ground for outdoor games and a complex for indoor games.

Being a tribal institution, we have a large number of students from tribal areas belonging to S.C., S.T. and O.B.C. categories. Almost 98% of our student come from socially and economically disadvantaged classes. Our faculty members not only inspire these students for studies and research but also try to give a homely as well as a supportive atmosphere on the college campus. They also imbibe students with encouragement and give coaching to the students appearing in various competitive examinations.

The institution gives generous representation to the students in various committees. We have a Career Corner Cell, Grievance Redressal Cell, and a Cell for Prevention of Sexual Harassment for the students as well as women faculties, Parents’ Association, Alumni Association, and Students’ Council.

Shri Morarji Ranchhodji Desai Arts & Commerce College is managed by MANAV KALYAN TRUST and all the office bearers of the Trust takes high interest in the activities of the institution. Their support and guidance in all actions is always available to the Principal, staff and students too. The Principal works on democratic basis by decentralizing its management. The staff is also eager and highly involved in the activities for the development of the institution. The suggestions from any corner are always welcomed and by working as one team the entire teaching as well as non-teaching staff strives hard to achieve the success and progress of the college.

The institution takes proper measures for quality assurance such as feedback on teachers and syllabus from the students, self appraisal forms filled up by the faculties. As the students are the major stakeholders, all the activities are student centric and they are involved in planning and implementation process. The institution gives intellectual freedom for any innovative practice brought about by either the faculty or a student. There are special facilities for differently- abled students as well. Extension activities done in the institution inculcate a sense of service in the students and make them better citizens. The institution has a strong management which redresses all the grievances of Principal as well as staff to the highest satisfying level.
